'Operation: 23 To Zero' Raises Awareness Of Veteran Suicides
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Military boots stand at attention at the State Capitol, as a powerful reminder of an often silent sacrifice of war.
Each day this week, volunteers have put 23 new sets of boots out each day. That represents that on average, one active duty soldier and 22 veterans take their lives each day.
One group wants to change that.
'Operation: 23 to Zero' wants the boots to inspire lawmakers to provide mental health resources.
The group also said they hope this will inspire veterans and active duty soldiers alike to get help.
