Obama Tweeter Says Posts Cost Him His Job

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (AP) — A Plymouth man investigated for violent tweets addressed to President Barack Obama says he lost his job because of them, but the company denies that's the reason.

The president's first official tweet from his @POTUS handle last month drew some hateful comments.

Some came from Jeff Gullickson, who said the Secret Service visited him. He says he didn't intend to threaten Obama and his tweets weren't meant to be racist.

Gullickson says he's considering legal action after being fired from Lexus of Wayzata.

But General Manager Robert Katz says Gullickson didn't work for Lexus of Wayzata, he worked for a bargain lot under the same corporate parent. And while he declined to say why Gullickson was fired, he says it wasn't because of any tweet.
