Northfield Man Dies After Falling From 3rd Floor Window
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) – A 44-year-old Northfield man is dead after falling from a third floor window in Columbia Heights on Friday, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
Police were called to the 900 block of 46 ½ Ave. NE at about 3 a.m. on a report that a man had fallen out of a third floor window. When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground and despite attempts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anoka County Cmdr. Paul Sommer says there's a possibility that some drug use was involved in the fall. Sommer says two witnesses told investigators the man simply fell through the window screen.
The man has not been identified pending notification of his family, but had an address in the city of Northfield. The incident is under investigation by the Columbia Heights Police Department with assistance from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.
