4 hurt in shooting near North St. Paul's Casey Lake Park

North St. Paul police investigating after 4 shot near graduation party

NORTH ST. PAUL, Minn. — A shooting at a Twin Cities park late Saturday night has left four people injured.

North St. Paul police say officers were called to the area of Casey Lake Park at about 10:45 p.m. on a report of a shooting that happened earlier in the evening.

The shooting happened just feet away from a graduation party inside a park building, according to a city employee. Party-goers were stuck on the scene until 2 a.m., he said.

Four people had turned up at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. Their conditions have not been released.

"Woke up to several sounds of clearly not fireworks," said a neighbor, who did not want to be identified.

The neighbor said she came to the park the following morning, where she found vehicles and buildings with bullet holes, along with bullet casings. A bullet was still stuck in a park building wall Sunday.

"Blood everywhere, a very chaotic-looking area," she said.

Police said they are still searching for suspects.

"I mean who does that? Who goes to a party with that type of gun? There's no remorse for life at all. Just sick, makes me sick," she said. "People need to chill. Put the guns down."

Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call police at 651-747-2444.
