No Charges In Fatal Shooting Of Wisconsin Hunter

WAUTOMA, Wis. (AP) — An Oshkosh man who fired the gunshot that killed a hunter in Waushara County won't face any charges.

Investigators concluded the shooting wasn't intentional or criminal.

WLUK-TV reports 56-year-old Gregory Welk of Mount Morris was shot just before sunset Nov. 23 while hunting on his land. He wearing blaze orange and was across the road from public hunting land.

Sheriff's officials and state Department of Natural Resources investigators say the 23-year-old man couldn't see Welk through the dense foliage.
