No. 23 Minnesota Sneaks Past Indiana 65-61

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Carile Wagner's jumper with 37 seconds left lifted No. 23 Minnesota over Indiana 65-61 on Sunday.

Wagner's 3 with 1:18 left in the game gave Minnesota a 60-59 lead. Indiana's Jenn Anderson responded with a jumper with 55 seconds, but Minnesota's Mikayla Bailey made a steal and on the possession, Wagner's jumper put the Gophers in the lead for good. Amanda Zahui and Shae Kelley added free throws for the final margin.

Wagner finished with 13 points. Kelley led Minnesota (16-2, 5-1 Big Ten) with 19 points and 13 boards. It's the first time in the history of Minnesota's program that they've gotten off to a 16-2 start.

Minnesota led by one with 6:05 left in the first half, but Indiana's Tyra Buss drilled a 3-pointer and the Hoosiers scored seven straight points, including Lyndsay Leikem's jumper. But Wagner responded with a 3-pointer and her jump shot with 1:06 left tied it 36 at the half.

Amanda Cahill and Larryn Brooks paced Indiana (12-5, 2-4) with 12 points apiece.
