NFL Coming To CBS On Thursday Night
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – NFL and CBS officials announced Wednesday that CBS will be adding football to its Thursday night broadcasting schedule, starting in 2014.
CBS and the NFL Network will simulcast eight games early in the 2014 season, and the remaining eight games will be broadcast on the NFL Network, which previously broadcast the entire Thursday night schedule.
Officials said 14 games will air on Thursday nights, with the other two leading up to the playoffs on Saturdays. It's a one-year deal that can be renewed in 2015. The top CBS broadcasting team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will work the Thursday night games and will be featured during pregame, halftime and postgame coverage.
