NEXT Weather: Temps to reach into the 80s midweek
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twin Cities will be treated to some tropical temperatures this week, before a big cooldown kicks off this weekend.
Most of the week will be warm and sunny, with highs expected to approach 80 Tuesday and ultimately top 80 on Wednesday.
Wednesday should be partly cloudy, but winds will be kicking up at 10 to 20 mph. Thursday could also bring a potential 80-degree high temp.
Friday brings a slight cooldown, with highs in the low 70s. There's a chance for a thunderstorm Friday night.
Temperatures will drop to the lower 50s over the weekend, and more rain is possible. But once we get past that, there's another potential warmup early next week, with highs back to the 60s.
