Next Weather: Hot and humid Friday, rainy weekend ahead
MINNEAPOLIS – We'll return to the heat and humidity Friday.
We'll hit 94 degrees in the Twin Cities. Storms are possible over parts of northern Minnesota late in the evening as the warm front lifts.
The cold front will swing through on Saturday, though the timing is uncertain right now. There could be a few thunderstorms, but the severe threat is low. Saturday's high will be 84 degrees.
The rain could help with the drought conditions. Moderate and severe drought has expanded for southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. This past June and July was the fourth driest on record in the Twin Cities.
Rain should continue into Sunday. That will keep the temps down, and it will help with the drought conditions that have gotten worse. The high temp will only reach 77.
Next week looks nice. Sunny, not humid, with temps near average. We'll warm later in the week.
