NEXT Weather: 6 p.m. report from Oct. 18, 2023

MINNEAPOLIS — An area of low pressure moves through the Upper Midwest Wednesday, bringing back showers.

Wednesday's high will reach 61 degrees in the Twin Cities.

Showers are expected to remain scattered in nature through the evening and will move off to the east overnight.

Thursday will be dry for most, with passing showers possible in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The day's high will be near 60 again. It will be sunny to the west.

Wind will pick up Friday and so will temperatures, WCCO meteorologist Chris Shaffer says. Expect highs in the mid-60s with some 70s possible to the west. Any rain showers should be contained to the northern and eastern parts of the states.

It will stay breezy on Saturday, but this weekend will be mainly dry, with temperatures in the 50s.

The start of next week looks seasonable, with some inklings of a drop-off in temperatures coming.
