NEXT Weather: After warmest Christmas Eve on record, rain, snow move into Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS — Now that the holiday is here in Minnesota, don't expect a Christmas miracle. Sunday brought temperatures high enough to make it the warmest Christmas Eve on record.

Next on the docket is rain for much of the state, and snow for some. In western and northern Minnesota, a winter weather advisory is in place through 3 p.m. Monday. Some areas could see up to an inch of snow. A NEXT Drive Alert is in place.

Temps reached record-breaking highs in the lower 50s in the metro on Sunday.

Then on Christmas Day through Tuesday, there will be another round of precipitation — mostly rain, but some snow and ice will accumulate to the north and west.

Sunshine should return by mid-week, and temps remain above average for all of next week.
