NEXT Weather: Light snow in the forecast for Monday night, before one of the coldest Halloweens in decades
MINNEAPOLIS — The week gets off to a cold and dry start, and by the end of Monday, many parts of the state will have seen some of their first light flakes of snow by nighttime.
WCCO meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says high temperatures in the Twin Cities will be in the upper 30s Monday, which is roughly 15 degrees below average.
Following the evening commute, a system will drop in from the north, bringing snow to most of the state. That system will stick around through early Tuesday, but less than an inch should accumulate in most places.
Halloween will be similarly cold, particularly for trick-or-treaters in the evening, but it should stay dry. Augustyniak says you can expect one of the coldest Halloweens we've seen in the last 30 years, with feels-like figures in the lower 20s.
It should remain generally dry for the rest of the week, though a few flurries are possible Wednesday, and a few late-day light rain showers on Friday.
Augustyniak says by the end of the week, temperatures will climb back into the 40s, which is only a few degrees shy of average for early November.
