NEXT Weather: Dangerous heat returns mid-week
MINNEAPOLIS -- A passing cold front made the heat retreat on Sunday, but it will return later in the week.
Monday's high temperature in the Twin Cities may reach 90 degrees, and southwestern Minnesota will see highs in the mid-90s.
The metro will then see highs in the mid-90s Tuesday, and heat indices could reach into the triple digits. An excessive heat watch will be in place for the southern half of the state from Tuesday afternoon through Thursday evening.
When the Minnesota State Fair starts Thursday, highs will still be in the lower 90s. A cold front rolls through Thursday night, and paves the way for an amazing first weekend at the fair.
