NEXT Weather: Winter weather advisory in NW Minnesota Tuesday morning
MINNEAPOLIS – A winter weather advisory is in effect for northwestern Minnesota Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The main concern is not the quantity of snow, but what it will do to the roads. As the storm system moves west to east, light snowfall will be mainly bottled up in far northern Minnesota. It will hit the Arrowhead by lunchtime before quickly clearing out of the state.
Another round of snow will then enter west-central Minnesota early Wednesday morning, and the system will likely span across much of northern Minnesota, but will just miss the Twin Cities. It will impact the morning commute, but it won't end up depositing much snow.
By Wednesday afternoon, most of northern Minnesota could see between 1-3 inches of accumulation.
Highs will be in the 25- to 30-degree range all week. Friday looks quiet, and Saturday looks mild and quiet.
Another system takes aim Sunday that could bring snow north and rain south with mild temps. Not a ton of moisture, so not a whopper system.
