NEXT Weather: Warmer temps and soaking rain Tuesday, possible Friday snowfall

NEXT Weather: 10 p.m. report

MINNEAPOLIS – Warmer temperatures will move in Tuesday, as well as some heavy rainfall.

There will be a few breaks in the clouds overnight that could give us a brief shot of catching the total lunar eclipse Tuesday morning. The low will be in the low 30s in the metro.

The wind picks up Tuesday and we'll warm into the low 50s. Rain and isolated, non-severe thunderstorms will likely hold off until late afternoon.

The rain threat lingers Wednesday and Thursday, and it stays warm – with highs in the mid 50s and upper 50s, respectively.

Winds pick up after the cold frontal passage Friday, and we could see a quick change from rain to snow.  The metro will be on the backside of the system, so any accumulation would be light.

The best chance of snow stacking up will be in west-central and northwestern Minnesota. Several inches could accumulate and blow around in the strong wind.

This weekend will feel like winter.  We dry out, but we don't warm above freezing.
