NEXT Weather: More slushy snow on the way this week
MINNEAPOLIS -- Meteorological spring kicks off Monday, but more slushy snow is on the way this week.
Sunday was the 111th consecutive day in the Twin Cities with an inch or more of snow on the ground. And in three days, we'll make it into the top 10 on record.
Monday will be another sunny day in the upper 30s, then a couple of rounds of snow will arrive Tuesday through Thursday, with the first hitting Tuesday afternoon. That snow will turn to more of a wintry mix by Wednesday afternoon before drying up.
The second round of snow should hit on Thursday. Accumulation in the metro is expected to be minor.
By midweek, temperatures should climb into the 40s, and by next weekend, it could be even warmer.
