NEXT Weather: One day after blizzard, Twin Cities hit 50 degrees for first time this year
MINNEAPOLIS -- One day after a blizzard coated the Twin Cities in several inches of snow, the metro hit 50 degrees for the first time this year.
According to the National Weather Service, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport measured 50 degrees around 2 p.m. on Sunday. NWS said this ended a 126-day streak of sub-50 degree temperatures. That's the 32nd longest streak on record.

The April Fools' Day blizzard put this winter into the top three snowiest on record in the Twin Cities. Sunday's high of 41 and Monday's high of 44 will help melt much of it, before another spring storm arrives Tuesday.
The Twin Cities will mainly see rain and thunderstorms, but other parts of the state could see snowfall. Northwestern Minnesota is under a winter storm watch, with 4 to 8 inches of snow possible.

The storm shouldn't push the metro any further up the snowiest winters leaderboard.
By midweek, temperatures will drop into the 30s again. Next weekend will bring a warmup, with possible highs in the 50s.
The Twin Cities has seen 89.7 inches of snowfall this season. We would need 9 more inches to move into the top spot.
