Vikings Unveil New 'Color Rush' Jerseys

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings' new home turf is not the only thing that will have a new look this season.

The Vikings will also have some new duds to show off.

Nike announced Tuesday that the Vikings will be part of the Color Rush series. The Color Rush jerseys are for Thursday night games, and the Vikings will wear their all-purple uniforms against the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 1.

But these aren't just about looks. This jersey is the lightest weight yet, and has fewer seams than ever.

Teddy Bridgewater will not be in the game for the jersey debut, but fans can wear them via The Minnesota Locker Room store at U.S. Bank Stadium or online.

It's a purchase that would be about more than just aesthetics, with proceeds going to youth football and the kids whose equipment was ruined in the Louisiana floods.

Vikings officials say they are excited because fans get excited over new looks, and it makes a game unique. So soon they will suit up -- and maybe more purple will mean even more pride.
