New Life, St. Cloud Cathedral, Mounds View Return To State

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — All three Minnesota high school baseball champions have returned to the state tournament to defend titles from last season.

New Life Academy of Woodbury in Class 1A, St. Cloud Cathedral in Class 2A and Mounds View in Class 3A are back in their respective brackets, all as the top seed. This is the 16th year of the three-class format.

The three championships will again be held at the home of the Twins, at Target Field Saturday. Prior to the title games, Class 1A competition will take place in Jordan and Chaska, Class 2A in St. Cloud and Class 3A in St. Paul and Minneapolis Thursday and Friday.

The new site this season is CHS Field in St. Paul, replacing Midway Stadium as the home of the minor league Saints.
