Nevada Casino, Tavern Owner To Merge With Minnesota Company

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The owner of three Pahrump, Nevada casinos west of Las Vegas and 48 taverns across the state says it plans to merge with a Minnesota-based casino company.

Sartini Gaming Inc. which operates as Golden Gaming announced the merger with Minnesota-based Lakes Entertainment Inc. Monday.

Lakes Entertainment owns the Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Cumberland, Maryland. Sartini operates several thousand slot machines in Nevada and owns taverns under the PT's brand.

Officials say the combined company is expected to earn $337.4 million in revenue.

Lakes will be renamed Golden Entertainment Inc. and plans to sell off a 10 percent stake in Rock Ohio Ventures which is an investor in casinos and racetracks in Ohio and Kentucky for $750,000.

The companies expect the merger to close by the end of 2015.
