MPD: 1 Injured In Dinkytown Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police say a woman was injured in a shooting early Saturday morning in Minneapolis' Dinkytown neighborhood.

The shooting happened on 14th Avenue Southeast and 4th Street Southeast near the University of Minnesota.

Police say the altercation began when people in two parked cars got into an argument with pedestrians on the sidewalk. The driver of one of the cars -- a gray sedan -- pulled forward and fired one shot towards the group of pedestrians.

One woman was struck in the arm and suffered non-life threatening injuries. The gray sedan fled westbound on 4th Street, while the other car -- a black sedan -- did a U-turn and fled in the opposite direction.

Police say the shooter is a black male between the ages of 20 and 21 standing at about 5'8" with a light build and a light complexion. He also had long black hair in dreadlocks, with highlighted tips. At the time of the shooting, police say he was wearing a black shirt and dark shorts and holding a silver revolver.
