Mothers Of Kids With Down Syndrome Meet At MOA

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A group of Minnesota moms is making it easier for other families to work through a difficult diagnosis.

This weekend marks the first annual Rockin' Mom Retreat for women who have a child under the age of three with Down syndrome.

Moms from across the country and Australia met at the Mall of America Hilton this weekend.

They're taking a little time to get pampered.

And they're learning about how to start up different service projects in their own communities to give back to other families.

The Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network is an online resource for parents.

For most, this weekend was the first time they've been able to meet in person.
