'Most Amazing Race' Contestants Dash Through Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Seventy teams raced around Minneapolis Saturday afternoon hoping to win the Most Amazing Race. It's all part of the 10th annual Salvation Army's Most Amazing Race in conjunction with the final day of the Aquatennial.
Beginning Saturday morning at Siebert Field, teams had to perform mental and physical challenges across the Twin Cities. Squeezing a lemon, and a Bollywood dance were just a few of the challenges contestants faced.
Twin Cities commander Jeff Strickler says the event has raised some $630,000 since 2006.
"We're able to use those funds, then, to help people with housing and with food," Strickler said. "Over half a million meals served last year, 370,000 nights of housing, also, 82,000 people served with groceries."
The Contestants are competing for the grand prize which is $5,000.
