Moorhead Police Chase Ends In Tree Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A Moorhead man fought off police officers and escaped in his car, leading to a police chase that ended when he crashed into a tree, according to an email bulletin from the city.
During the chase, the man drove into Fargo, colliding with fencing and a parked car before the tree brought his vehicle to a stop.
Jason Glen Marinucci, 29, is being charged with a felony count of fleeing in a motor vehicle and with possession of marijuana and of a first-degree controlled substance.
Marinucci was stopped around 2:30 a.m. Friday for an equipment violation by Clay County Sheriff's Deputies.
During the stop, police found drugs in the car, Marinucci fought with officers and fled on foot, eventually returning to his car, according the city's statement.
After the chase, Marnucci left his crashed car by the tree and again fled on foot but was caught by police, the city said.
He was taken to Sanford Hospital
