19-Year-Old Woman Killed Burnsville Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 19-year-old woman has died after a car she was a passenger in crashed on Interstate 35W in Burnsville Saturday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash occurred Saturday at 7:21 a.m. on southbound Interstate 35W south of Burnsville Parkway. There, a Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on the interstate when it went off the road to the right, hit the sound wall, rolled and came to rest in the ditch.

The passenger, Kayli Kim Thompson from Burnsville, was killed in the crash.

The driver, 20-year-old James Robert Lapsley of Prior Lake, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center.
