MN Offering Free Anti-Smoking Treatment To Some
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's the turn of a new year, and the state of Minnesota is helping people whose New Year's resolutions are to quit smoking.
Nearly 6,000 people die every year in Minnesota due to smoking, and it causes nearly $2.5 billion annually in medical costs.
Starting this Friday, anti-tobacco treatment such as counseling and nicotine replacement therapies will be free for people on Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare.
