MN Activists To Protest Trump's Immigration Plans At RNC
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Not every Minnesotan heading to the Republican National Convention is a party supporter.
At least 50 Minnesota activists are reportedly heading to the RNC in Cleveland to join a national protest over Donald Trump's immigration plans.
Brad Sigal of the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee is leading the group.
"We see Trump proposals as an attack on immigrant families, specifically in terms of deportation. He's threatening an ever more massive scale deportations than have happened in the last 8 years," Sigal said.
The group is part of a large rally and march scheduled for downtown Cleveland at noon.
Sigal says the protest's goal is to make clear that what's happening inside the RNC does not represent what a majority of people in this country want.
