Body of missing Mississippi River kayaker recovered
ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Authorities say they've recovered the body of a kayaker who went missing on the Mississippi River near St. Cloud on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Stearns County officials, a boater called in an overturned kayak at about 4 p.m. The boater reported that they didn't see anyone in the vicinity of the overturned kayak.
Crews responded in boats to search the area, but couldn't locate the kayaker.
Emergency crews received a 911 call around 6:20 p.m. Friday from a boater near St. Germain Street Bridge, who said there was a body floating in the water.
The kayaker was identified as 39-year-old Donald Worden.
