Minnetonka Police Issue Crime Alert Following 8 Residential Burglaries

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnetonka Police Department are asking homeowners to be aware this holiday season after eight burglaries have occurred since Nov. 17.

According to the Minnetonka Police Department, a crime alert was issued after four residential burglaries occurred between Nov. 17 and  19.

Four additional burglaries have occurred since the crime alert.

Police said all of the break-ins have occurred during the day when the homeowner isn't home. The suspect(s) pried open a door or broke a window to gain entry.

The suspect(s) is believed to be parking in the driveway or garage while committing the burglary.

Minnetonka Police said the suspect(s) may ring the doorbell to see if anyone is home. They said if you answer the door and an unknown individual asks for someone you don't know, this is likely a cover-up and to call 911 immediately.

The Minnetonka Police Department is offering up a $1,000 cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-222-8477 or visit Crime Stoppers online.
