Minnesota Weather: More Thunderstorms Expected For Twin Cities, Southern Minn., Western Wis. Overnight

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A few tornado warnings were issued in south-central and southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin Sunday evening -- with a report of a tornado in Winona County.

Meteorologist Lisa Meadows says a big batch of thunderstorms created funnel clouds, but the Winona County tornado still needs to be confirmed Monday by spotters from the National Weather Service.

The storm system will progress overnight and into Monday morning, with more thunderstorms in play across the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin.

Once the storm system moves out, high heat and humidity will reign this week.

Here's a timeline of how the storm played out Sunday evening:

10:55 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Blue Earth and Nicollet counties in Minnesota until 11:15 p.m.

9:51 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Barron and Dunn counties in Wisconsin until 10:15 p.m.

8:46 p.m.: Meteorologist Lisa Meadows says a tornado was confirmed in Winona County.

8:41 p.m.: A Tornado Warning has been issued for Winona County in Minnesota until 9:15 p.m.

7:52 p.m.: A Tornado Warning has been issued for Pierce County in Wisconsin until 8:15 p.m.

7:27 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Winona County in Minnesota until 8:45 p.m.

7:23 p.m.: A Tornado Watch has been issued for Buffalo, Pepin and Pierce counties in Wisconsin until 10 p.m.

7:12 p.m.: A Tornado Warning has been issued for Goodhue County in Minnesota and Pierce County in Wisconsin until 7:30 p.m.

6:34 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Fillmore, Olmsted and Wabasha counties in Minnesota until 7:45 p.m.

5:44 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Fillmore, Mower and Olmsted counties in Minnesota until 6:30 p.m.

5:13 p.m.: A Tornado Watch has been issued for Dakota, Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Le Sueur, Mower, Nicollet, Olmsted, Rice, Scott, Sibley, Steele, Wabasha, Waseca and Winona counties in Minnesota until 10 p.m.

4:56 p.m.: Meteorologist Lisa Meadows say severe thunderstorms are impacting extreme southern Minnesota. Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says severe weather is possible withing in the next couple hours in the south metro.

4:50 p.m.: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Mower County in Minnesota until 5:45 p.m.
