Snowy weekend in Twin Cities ahead of arctic blast
MINNEAPOLIS — Aside from some flurries on Friday morning, it's a fairly quiet end to the week in the Twin Cities with a mostly cloudy sky.
High temps stay in the 20s on Friday through the weekend, with another shot at light snow arriving on Saturday afternoon in the metro.
Amounts will be minor, with 1-2 inches expected for most — and up to 3-4 inches farther north — before ending by Sunday afternoon.
Behind that, temps drop off again as arctic high pressure returns. Wind chills will be near minus 20 degrees each morning between Sunday and Wednesday.
Actual highs will be in the single digits above zero with subzero lows.
There may be another warm-up toward the end of next week with highs back near 32 and no significant chances for snow.
