Overnight showers in Twin Cities before possible severe Thursday storms

MINNEAPOLIS — After some scattered overnight showers in the Twin Cities, a NEXT Weather Alert has been issued for Thursday due to the possibility of severe storms.

Storms are expected to pop up Thursday afternoon and quickly push east. There is a slight risk for severe weather (2 on a scale of 5) with large hail being the greatest threat.

The wind will be a player as the storms push east, and there's also a chance for tornadoes. 

On the flip side, Friday will likely be a #Top10WxDay since it will be sunny, dry and less humid with highs around 80.

Rain chances will return on Saturday and into next week.
