Twin Cities to get taste of fall temps on Friday

NEXT Weather: 5 p.m. report for Minnesota from Sept. 5, 2024

MINNEAPOLIS — With Thursday morning's rain done, expect the clouds to gradually clear through the afternoon.

A few pop-up showers will develop later but should stay across northern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Northerly winds will draw in some cooler air with highs in the mid-70s. This will also pull in cleaner air reducing smoke and haze through the afternoon for northwestern Minnesota.

High pressure continues to build in for the weekend keeping things dry, quiet and cooler.

Saturday morning will start in the 40s before warming to near 70 by the afternoon.

Temperatures continue to rebound, reaching the 80s again next week, with the next chance for a few showers on Tuesday or Wednesday.
