Cool and sunny Tuesday in Twin Cities as slight warm-up looms

MINNEAPOLIS — After much of southern Minnesota was under a freeze warning early Tuesday, the Twin Cities will warm up nicely.

The high will be 55 degrees in the metro with plenty of sunshine. It should be a nice, albeit cool, Tuesday.

Temps will drop to around freezing overnight Wednesday, with the entire Twin Cities expected to finally get its official first freeze of the season. A freeze warning will be in effect for southeastern Minnesota.

Wednesday's high will be around 62, and highs on Thursday and Friday will be in the 70s. Both days will also bring the threat of critical fire weather conditions due to heavy winds. This threat may be extending into the weekend.

The next best chance for rain in the metro is Friday night through Saturday morning, but amounts look to be very little.
