Cold front cools Twin Cities on Thursday

NEXT Weather: 10 p.m. report on Aug. 8, 2024

MINNEAPOLIS — A cold front brings a touch of autumn to the end of the week.

Overnight showers will dry up by the afternoon leaving Thursday's forecast with a high of 69 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun.

High pressure will keep us mainly dry throughout the weekend, though areas north and east of the metro can expect some showers by Friday evening.

The start of the weekend will be on the cooler side. Expect a similar stretch of weather until we break the pattern on Sunday.

We may see the upper 70s early next week with a few rain chances. The average temperature for this time of year is in the 80s.
