Severe weather is rolling through the state; severe thunderstorm watch in place for several counties

NEXT Weather: 8:30 p.m. weather update for Saturday August 3, 2024

MINNEAPOLIS — Severe storms are working their way southeast towards the metro. There are severe thunderstorm warnings for Kandiyohi, McCloud, and Meeker county. Those counties are experiencing strong winds, up to 60 miles per hour, and hail.

Hennepin and Carver county are also under a severe thunderstorm warning until 10 p.m.

Walker, in Cass County saw some hail earlier this evening.

A severe thunderstorm watch will remain in place until 1 a.m. for the metro and surrounding areas.
