Minnesota Unemployment Rate Ticks Up In Feb.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota's unemployment rate has climbed slightly to a seasonally adjusted 4.8 percent, with employers cutting 100 jobs.
The rate for February was one-tenth of a point higher than January's figure. The Department of Employment and Economic Development said Thursday that the net loss in jobs was offset by a revision for January in which employers posted 800 new jobs.
The U.S. unemployment rate for February was 6.7 percent.
Job losses were seen in the information, government, financial activities and trade, transportation and utilities sectors. Gains came in education and health services, business services, manufacturing, leisure, construction and mining and logging.
Minnesota is just shy of having 3 million people in its labor force.
