Twins Claim Pitcher Ramirez From Brewers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins announced Sunday that they've claimed right-handed pitcher Neil Ramirez off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Ramirez, 27, appeared in 10 games this year for the Brewers and Cubs and has a 5.79 earned run average with 13 strikeouts and eight walks in 9 1/3 innings pitched. He is expected to join the Twins Monday in Anaheim.

The Twins will make a corresponding move to make room for Ramirez on the 25-man roster. The Twins also moved Phil Hughes to the 60-day disabled list.
