Minnesota Lynx Re-Sign C Sylvia Fowles

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Sylvia Fowles was the MVP of the WNBA Finals last year as the Minnesota Lynx won their third championship in five seasons.

The Lynx announced Tuesday they've re-signed Fowles, who was a free agent.

She started all 18 games for the Lynx after the All-Star break last year and averaged 15.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. The Lynx acquired her in a trade. She had double-doubles in seven games last season.

Fowles was also named the WNBA Finals MVP after averaging 15.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and one block per game over the five-game series against the Indiana Fever. She's a three-time WNBA All-Star.

The Lynx also announced Tuesday that they've traded guard Deveraeaux Peters to the Indiana Fever for forward Natasha Howard. Peters was a restricted free agent. For her career, Howard is averaging 5.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in about 14.4 minutes per game.
