Minnesota Company Recalls Tree Stands Due To Cable Issue

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – More than 12,000 tree stands from a Minnesota company are being recalled due to a fall hazard.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the assembly cables on stands made by the Windom-based company Big Game Treestands can release, causing a user to fall.

Officials say the company received a report that the cables did release on a user, resulting in injuries to the user's knee, wrist and hip.

The models affected by the recall date from 2014, and they include the Outlook, the Cobalt and the Fusion.

Those with recalled units can get free replacement cables from the company.
