Minnesota Announces Fall Duck And Goose Seasons, Regulations
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota's fall duck and goose seasons will open Sept. 26 with bag limits and season dates similar to last year's.
Steve Cordts, waterfowl specialist with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, says that while the season structure is similar to recent years, the DNR adjusted the season dates in the south duck zone based on hunter preferences.
The waterfowl seasons are based on a federal framework that applies to all states in the Mississippi Flyway.
The only bag limit change is for canvasback ducks, which increases from one to two per day.
More information on duck, goose, sandhill crane and other migratory bird hunting seasons is contained in the 2015 Minnesota Waterfowl Hunting Regulations, which is now available online and will be made available in print later this month.
