"Preliminary information indicates that this is a domestic-related incident between the female and her live-in domestic male partner," the department said.

On Monday, officers tracked a suspect to Maple Grove. They arrested the 50-year-old man during a traffic stop at the intersection of Douglas Drive North and St. Croix Avenue North.

On Tuesday, the woman was identified as 43-year-old Kesha Moore.

Anyone with information about the killing is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers.

Violence-Free Minnesota says 34 people have been killed by their partners this year. That's the second-highest number they've ever recorded.
