3 hurt in 3 separate Minneapolis shootings in span of 3.5 hours

"21 Days of Peace" returns to troubled North Minneapolis intersection

MINNEAPOLIS -- Two men and a woman were struck by bullets in three separate shootings Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Police say the first shooting happened just before 3 p.m. on the 1200 block of 26th Avenue North, in the Jordan neighborhood. A man was the sole victim, and he drove himself to North Memorial Health in nearby Robbinsdale for treatment.

The second shooting occurred just before 4 p.m. on the 3700 block of Portland Avenue, in the Powderhorn neighborhood. The victim, a man in his 40s, was treated at the scene by officers before he was taken to HCMC.

The third shooting happened at about 6:36 p.m. on the 400 block of 24th Avenue North, in the Hawthorne neighborhood. A woman was driving a vehicle with two passengers inside when she was struck by several bullets. Her passengers weren't hurt. She also drove herself to North Memorial Health.

All three victims are expected to survive. Officers recovered shell casings at all three scenes. No one is in custody in connection to these shootings.
