Minneapolis police cruisers collide south of Lake Street
MINNEAPOLIS — Two Minneapolis Police Department cruisers collided overnight Thursday.
The crash happened just before 3 a.m. at East 32nd Street and First Avenue South, about a block east of Interstate 35 West.
Three officers were taken to the hospital and were released by late afternoon Thursday, according to Minneapolis police. Two officers had minor injuries, and one officer was uninjured.
Officials say one squad car was traveling north on First Avenue South through 32nd Street East when it entered the intersection at the same time as the other squad car, which was traveling east on 32nd Street East through First Avenue South. The two squads collided in the intersection.
