Minneapolis Begins Aquatennial Celebration

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- They are called "The Best Days of Summer," and they start Wednesday night!

Minneapolis's Aquatennial Celebration has a new format this year, and was shortened to four days instead of 10 -- but some of your favorites will be back.

Family Fun Night will take place at Loring Park Wednesday night, and WCCO's Kim Johnson will be hosting the CenterPoint Energy Torchlight 5K Race at 7:30 p.m. Runners will travel from the Basilica of St. Mary down Hennepin Avenue to the St. Anthony Main area.

And then WCCO's Mark Rosen will be the grand marshal of the Aquatennial Torchlight Parade at 8:30 p.m., which will make its way down Hennepin Avenue. WCCO will also be giving away fans at the parade.
