Minn. March To Nov. Election Starts In Feb.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Election Day is 11 months away, but there are plenty of campaign-related deadlines dotting the Minnesota calendar.
Four weeks from Tuesday, Minnesota's major parties are holding precinct caucuses. Party faithful who show up have a chance to move on to conventions in the spring, where endorsements will be decided.
Candidates must officially register their campaigns between May 20 and June 3.
The races for governor and U.S. Senate will garner the most attention, but there are also high-profile contests for Congress and the battle for control of the Minnesota House. The Secretary of State's office will be up for grabs with incumbent Mark Ritchie stepping down.
Absentee voting for the August primary begins in late June. Absentee voting for the general election starts in mid-September.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
