Minn. Cow Gives Birth To Triplets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minnesota farmer's cow has defied the odds.
An 8-year-old red angus at Gilbertson Farm near Detroit Lakes gave birth to triplets on Aug. 23.
The farmers said they had no idea the cow was pregnant, much less with triplets.
The odds of a cow giving birth to triplets is 1 and 105,000.
The farmers say the three calves are healthy, but mom could use a break.
"Any time she's standing up, somebody's hungry," farm owner Greg Gilbertson said.
He added that the triplets will likely way less than other cattle come spring.
