Minn. Bill Seeks Disclosure Of Funeral Pricing
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota funeral homes could soon face new requirements when it comes to sharing pricing information.
A bill the Legislature will consider this year would compel funeral providers to post their prices on the Internet if they already maintain a Web site.
The House Health and Human Services Policy Committee was scheduled to take its first look at the bill Wednesday.
State law already requires price lists be made available upon request for everything from embalming to caskets to hearse use.
No votes are planned at the hearing. The Legislature won't be formally in session until late February, but lawmakers are holding a range of hearings to hit the ground running.
