Mike Max Goes 1-On-1 With Karl-Anthony Towns
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Karl-Anthony Towns was one of the best players on a Kentucky squad last year that won 38 straight games before losing to Wisconsin in the Final Four.
He also had to make an individual sacrifice that translated to team success. He played about 21 minutes per game, scoring more than 10 points and grabbing nearly seven rebounds per game. Under different circumstances, those numbers would've been a lot bigger.
Towns went from being named a Second Team All-America pick to the No. 1 overall pick in last Thursday's NBA Draft. He's now with the Timberwolves and part of an incredibly young corps that includes Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Shabazz Muhammad and others. He'll also have veteran teammates to rely on, namely Kevin Garnett.
Towns arrived in Minneapolis last Friday and is already excited, talking about his NBA future with the Timberwolves.
