Metro Transit Orange Line Project Approved
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A proposed new bus line between Burnsville and downtown Minneapolis has received federal approval.
With the approval, Metro Transit and other agencies can begin detailed design, engineering and environmental work on the project.
The Metro Orange Line will run all day service along Interstate 35-W. The line will include 11 stops. This should ease congestion on the busy 16-mile stretch.
Construction is expected to begin in 2017 and the Orange Line should be open in 2019.
